There are 600 million overweight adults and 100 million overweight children worldwide. Its prevalence has doubled from 5.1% in the year 1992 to 10.8% in 2010. A parallel rise in the majority of Diabetes Mellitus accompanies this. Dr. Siaw Tung Yeng

Siaw Tung Yeng has been a practicing physician for more than 30 years and has been a senior consultant in family medicine since 2005.

Dr. Siaw is different from many doctors in one key respect. He has been complimenting his work as a physician with IT for over 20 years. He worked with Singapore’s Ministry of Health implementing IT in the 1990s. He has also been a director at Gloco Malaysia, which provides health IT since 2006, and a director of United Vision Holdings, which operates seven family medicine clinics across Singapore for 15 years.

Dr. Rachel Teoh Pui Pui graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 2002. A surgeon by training, she is a member of the National ATLS Committee and trainer for Advanced Trauma Life Support for the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma in 2005. She now pursues her broader interest in Family Medicine with a special interest in Dermatology and Public Health, with full accreditation from the Aesthetic Dermatology Educational Group (ADEG) and the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). Dr. Rachel Teoh served as a frontline medical doctor in Tan Tock Seng Hospital during SARS in 2002 and COVID-19 in 2020.

She is a Medical Doctor with strategic foresight for the future of healthcare. She is a pioneer in Telemedicine in Singapore and co-founded MaNaDr in 2018 with a vision of equitable healthcare for all. In 2020, she led a group of medical doctors, working closely with the Ministry of Health, to form the front line forward triage medical care for Migrant Workers residing in the dormitories during the peak of the Covid-19 outbreak in the dormitories in 2020. She represented doctors on migrant worker-related health issues in our national pandemic response. Working closely with Migrant Workers’ Centre, she spearheaded the island-wide rollout of Tele-Monitoring devices to dormitories as part of the Chronic Care Management and Disease Surveillance.

Dr. Siaw Seng Taat, Nathan graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). As an undergraduate, he participated in various Ophthalmology symposiums and conferences. One of his research papers was also chosen to be presented at the 32nd Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress (APAO), where he presented his research findings on amblyopia, to the international community.

Dr. Nathan has also gained extensive experience across various institutions including Singapore National Eyecare Centre (SNEC), Changi General Hospital (CGH), Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), and National University Hospital (NUH). As a recognition of his contributions, he has also been awarded the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards in 2021.

As a keen advocate for primary eye care, Dr. Nathan currently works at the National University Hospital as well as maintains his research presence with Singapore National Eyecare Center and Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI).

Dr. Nathan is fluent in both English and Mandarin. In his free time, he often volunteers both locally and abroad. He also spends time creating educational videos for the public, in hopes of achieving medical education in a fun and entertaining manner.

Dr. Jeremiah James Pereira

Dr. Pereira studied at the National University of Singapore on a SingHealth Undergraduate Medicine Scholarship and graduated with an MBBS in 2018. They subsequently completed their MRCP (UK) and M. Med (Int Med) in 2021. Prior to joining ManaDr, they were part of the Singhealth Internal Medicine Programme. As part of their training, they rotated through and gained diverse experiences in various medical subspecialties. Their main areas of interest are sexual health as well as gender-affirming care. Dr. Pereira strongly believes in providing inclusive and evidence-based care to their patients.

Dr. Nam Min Fern Alvina

Dr. Alvina Nam graduated from the National University of Singapore with an M.B.B.S degree. As part of the requirements after graduation, she worked in various departments in government hospitals, including Accident and Emergency, General Surgery, and Paediatrics. Subsequently, she left the Public Service and worked as a General Practitioner, first in the HDB heartlands and then the Orchard Road belt for about 10 years before finally setting up Clinic@Costa. During this time, Dr. Nam obtained several postgraduate diplomas, namely Post Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (GDFM), a Diploma in Occupational Medicine (D.O.M), Postgraduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine as well as a Diploma in Aesthetic medicine.
